Our day to day lives and business changed dramatically in mid-March.
Here in Colorado, the governor issued the stay-at-home order on March 26. In anticipation of the order, we were developing prototypes for various safety products and beginning to produce them. We adopted enhanced cleaning/sanitation policies, added PPE for employees, installed safety curtains throughout our facility and adjusted our workforce to work remotely where possible.
Our unique business was ready to respond. Our skilled, creative people rose to the challenge by changing how they work and creating new things to work on. We’re in a great place where we have supplies and a supply chain to provide materials. We are a small, family-owned company, and were willing to change direction to respond to the unprecedented situation.
Our primary company focus has been to help wherever we can. We manufactured face shields and curtains to start. The first order of our durable, reusable, 20ml clear, colorless vinyl face shields went to our local police department. Since then, we’ve gotten orders from transportation companies, nursing homes, fire departments and security providers who appreciate the quality, durability and affordability of the product.
Getting back to work will present unprecedented challenges for businesses in the coming weeks or months. Our innovative crew is making prototypes of several useful products that will allow employees in different types of businesses to work together and feel safe. Our latest product is our driver safety curtains (for buses, shuttles, limousines, ride-share, schools). It’s made of the same durable, flexible, cleanable, clear vinyl as our yurt windows- creating a see-through barrier between a driver and passengers.
One of our other goals has been keeping our crew on the job and getting paychecks. With their hard work and commitment, we’ve been able to fulfill orders for our yurts, tipis and tents, albeit at a slightly different pace. After communicating with customers who had orders booked, we were happy that every single one understood possible delays or rerouting of their order to fulfill an emergency request.

We would love to hear from you. Do you have ideas for products that might make the transition back to work safer? Do you know of an organization or business that might be interested in placing an order?
We genuinely appreciate your understanding and support of our priorities. We’ll continue to prioritize the immediate needs of our communities, while also serving our core customers.
